Pokémon pledges $25 million to help children

The Pokemon Company International, responsible for the Pokemon brand outside of Asia, has announced a minimum commitment of $25 million over the next five years to various organizations dedicated specifically to supporting social justice and improving the lives of children. This will be donated as money, primarily, but the company will also donate Pokemon Trading Card game and Pokemon Center products to various organizations.

Kenji Okubo, president of Pokémon International, said as part of an announcement. “Pokemon is an instantly eclectic brand that has captured the imaginations of children around the world for 25 years. With its global themes of adventure, friendship and perseverance, it has also been welcomed into the lives of an incredibly diverse fan base in countries around the world. We are committed to capitalizing on It is this unique ability and the support we have received from our broad community of coaches to be a positive force in children’s lives and to create a more equitable and inclusive world in which everyone can thrive.”
